PC MAKERS MISSED DEADLINE
(Techzines) - In our vast and rising world of technology, there are lots of rules made by such PC makers in every country that we people should comply. Beijing has their rules, one of which is that every PC should include internet filtering software. They made a delay out of supplying all new machines with the program. According to retail and PC industry experts, even if China would be pushing ahead with the order in spite of international consternation it would practically be several weeks before most new machines available to Chinese purchases could carry the software.
Rob Enderle, a US PC industry analyst gave out a word about the delay; that it could be used to remove the issue and could also render more time for a face-saving compromise. Embarrassment is what the Chinese authorities felt and they have been thinking to find a graceful way out of the delay.
PC makers have been dodging questions over whether they plan to comply with the order because they are kind of wary of opposing the Chinese government. Acer sees no other choice but to do so; they had been the only one to say that.
According to a clerk ay BuyNow situated in Shanghai through telephone interview about China’s enforcement power, it is not strong enough because they can’t even enforce some laws properly and if they cannot improve their way of social control, they should forget or even stop thinking about some piece of software. Or in other words, they’d rather not supply new machines with new program to other countries.
